The designers, Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson, were commissioned with the renovation, restoration and redecoration of this historic residence. The building is understated and elegant. Its façade adorned with red Portland stones, required a top to bottom renovation. Drake/Anderson tackled the job: modernizing the technical systems and decoration while preserving its important historical architectural elements. To meet this challenge, our workrooms put their excellent savoir-faire and patience to good use, turning the creations into genuine works of art.

On the ground floor, in the larger of two dining rooms which accommodates up to 14 guests, we crafted a pair of stunning padded velvet persimmon sofas nestled by each of the two fireplaces. They harmoniously blend with the essence of the room and its furnishings: 19th-century crystal chandeliers, contemporary bronze tables, and a semi-precious crystal topped console.

In the main living room, we find a large curved sofa fitted gracefully into the sweep of the bay window. This exquisite piece, resting on a beautiful Persian rug, was upholstered by the skilled hands of our craftsmen in a magnificent velvet with ombre shades of green. It seamlessly blends in with the contemporary tables, antique chairs, and the stunning Japanned lacquered desk. In the same room, facing the sofa, there is a Napoleon III inspired chaise longue and two whimsical pouf ottomans, all meticulously crafted by our upholsterers with the greatest attention to detail.

Adjoining the living room., there is a chalk-painted library adorned with vibrant cinnabar and dark ebony furniture. A quartet of custom swivel chairs surround a tufted round ottoman all made by Jouffre. The combination of the contemporary and traditional is a theme throughout the six floors of the house, and a signature of the designers. We also produced the whimsical, swagged passementerie window valances.

On the second floor, the master bedroom is immersed in shades of green, evoking the River Thames outside. The room's walls have been meticulously sheathed with lustrous green silk velvet using the gainage technique by our installers, covering the period paneling with exquisite care. The same velvet custom embroidered adorns the windows. For this space, our workrooms in Lyon crafted a magnificent showstoppingly glamorous bed, an ottoman, and a sensuously curved sofa, all upholstered in pastel green tones, blending harmoniously with the room's scheme.

On the third floor, Jamie, Caleb, and their team decorated the clients' offices respecting the fundamental style of the house, but with updated finesse. Our craftsmen fabricated a magnificent fringed settee and bench ottoman inspired by the Regency style, in our Lyon-based workroom. The warm apricot colors of the lady’s lair, and the deep cobalt of the gentleman’s study, turn these rooms into a truly inspiring and cozy cocoons. Jouffre’s finesse is also seen in the tailored and elegant curtains and Roman shades.

The creativity and imagination of Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson is evident in every room and every corner of this home. The high-style chic of their vision has been fully realized with Jouffre’s contributions, executed with precision, meticulousness, and taste, and we are proudly a part of this triumph of a project.
