"It is not sufficient to make something beautiful. It must also be comfortable, which makes the exercise extremely difficult. What I expect from an upholsterer is quality and dependability, at the service of forms which must adapt perfectly to the human body. For one of our clients, Jouffre displayed great technical prowess, fabricating a twenty feet long couch without buttoning, stitching or cushions. I especially appreciate the firm's dynamic mindset and interest in developing new designs. This interaction between professionals yields creations which, on the face of it, seem utterly impossible. It is at this point that a project comes most vibrantly alive."
> Visit websiteFollowing the success of his OOPS inaugural collection exhibited at R & Company in September 2017, Pierre Yovanovitch has created a new experience at the New York art gallery.
From November 6, 2019 to January 5, 2020, R & Company is highlighting Love, the new exhibition by Pierre Yovanovitch, who is presenting more than thirty new work of art, including lamps and furnitures brought to life by carpenters, glassmakers, ceramists, iron artists, upholsterers and seamstresses.
By presenting Love, Pierre Yovanovitch shows us once again his passion for narrative and tells a story of the imaginary character Miss Oops, first created for the 2018 Design Parade festival in Toulon.
This immersive exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to discover different rooms, from the living room to the dining room, through the boudoir and the bedroom, and to witness Madame Oops' nascent romance along the way. Each scenography features furniture decorated with embroideries representing different parts of the body such as faces, arms and pulpy lips.
Pierre Yovanovitch and his teams once again entrusted our artisans with the manufacture of some of the exhibition's pieces. Throughout the exhibition, visitors can find new versions of creations already exhibited at OOPS, such as Daydream Mama Bear and Daydream Papa Bear armchairs in the vestibule. Madame and Monsieur Oops chairs in the dining room are also on hand, as well as Gérard Oops and Catherine Oops chairs covered with custom embroidery, imagined by Lesage Intérieurs.
Love also presents new pieces including the Dazzling sofa, Whim cushions, Hook Up and Hit On armchairs.
