My intention was to develop the collection at it’s highest expression, Jouffre’s exceptional expertise made this creative endeavour possible. Through their teams equisite savoir-faire, delicate detailing and precision in craftsmanship the Cocoon sofa, Cuddle armchair and Cuore ottoman are brought to life artfully. I appreciated our continued conversations and my visits to their workrooms in Lyon throughout the production process. I look forward to continue collaborating with their atelier in the creation of future pieces.
> Visit websitePARISAIKA, the architectural studio founded by Parisa Bazargani, unveils its first "Home" furniture collection exclusively with our upholstery ateliers. Inspired by the harmonies of nature and the home, the collection reflects a vision focused on precision and rigorous research, specific to the sensibility of the designer and interior architect.
Born in London in 1991, Parisa Bazargani began her studies at the prestigious Accademia italiana, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in design before continuing her studies in architecture on the other side of the world, in Australia. It was at the end of this adventure in the southern hemisphere that she decided to found her own agency, PARISAIKA, in Sydney in 2019.
Strongly influenced by the harmonies of nature as well as the notions of home she assimilated when she moved to Sydney, Parisa designed her first collection by making sketches and geometric studies to express the functional and sensory aspects of the pieces. The shapes she created adapt to human morphology, with natural symmetry and revealed as a harmonious whole.
In September 2021, the designer and interior architect decided to follow her dream and called on the expertise of our Lyon upholstery workrooms to materialize her first collection. The Home collection brings together a set of several pieces: the "Cocoon" sofa, the "Cuddle" armchair and the "Cuore" ottoman, complemented by a coffee table created by painter and ceramist Armelle Benoit. The "Cuddle" sofa is inspired by the continuous undulation of a wave. Its curves embrace the human form in the purity of its silhouette, creating a sense of shelter and cocooning. The "Cuore" silhouette, also very pure and minimalist, evokes the idea of a cuddle, offering a feeling of softness and comfort. Finally, the "Cuore" ottoman, translated as "heart" in Italian, recalls moments of relaxation on the beach, its heart shape a true invitation to unwind.
The wooden structures of each seat are made of Oak and solid woods and shaped by our partner Souchet Inspired Woodwork, our upholsterer based in Liffol-le-Petit. Once the wooden frames have been delivered to our ateliers, our upholsterers deploy their savoir-faire by upholstering them with elastic webbing arranged in a checkerboard pattern. At the same time, they sculpt and add different densities of foam to achieve the desired level of comfort. Then came the covering stage: the seats were upholstered in Loro Piana CashFur, a fabric whose texture evokes fur and creates a sensation of evanescent serenity. The designer fell in love with this fabric when she visited our workrooms.
The "Home" collection will be on display at Design Miami Paris this October 2024 and distributed by Galerie Scene Ouverte. For its launch, Parisa chose to present its magnificent furniture in Sydney on the Tasman Sea. We warmly thank Parisa Bazargani for her confidence and for choosing such an exceptional location to showcase our expertise and creations.
