Architects have a simple objective: have the best team mates, craftsmen, engineers work on materializing their designs. Without these people and their skills, ideas are mere intentions. Jouffre is one of these precious partners. A demanding group of the highest standard and rigor, gifted with the ability to understand the materiality sought by the architect. A team of men and women, driven by a common spirit: crafting the best possible pieces, dedicating the same attention to each project. I feel blessed we have come across their path.

Spectacular spaces, furniture with radical lines, vast patio doors overlooking beautiful landscapes… This is what characterizes the architectural approach of Alireza Razavi whose work is essentially based on the mediation between the cultures of engineering and architecture.
After various projects including an apartment in Lyon, a New York triplex, and a Parisian building of 170 apartments, Studio Razavi Architecture transformed a former XVIII century mansion into a charming apartment. Natural light celebrates the materiality of the load-bearing walls and columns where curved forms contribute to the creation of a peaceful space, ideal for relaxing.
Studio Razavi entrusted us with the fabrication of an exceptional piece of furniture for this sublime apartment overlooking the Luxembourg Gardens and located in one of the oldest parts of the town of Paris: a large circular sofa composed of several modules placed in the center of the main living room.
This is where our workrooms came into play to bring their savoir-faire into the realization of a daybed and three curved sofas of different sizes. During several weeks, our team composed of a Project Manager, designers of our Design Studio and our artisans worked on the development and design of these seats.
The living room sofa required a lot of development and reflection from our teams in order to give it the expected curved shapes. Alireza Razavi and his teams have an extremely precise approach and a sharp eye for detail when developing furniture. Each inclination, each radius and junction between the materials and the different facets of the sofas are carefully thought out and determined in a very rigorous manner in order to obtain the desired result both in terms of aesthetic and comfort.
All of the pieces rest on a base of walnut-stained oak wood that our teams varnished to obtain a satin finish. Our upholsterers covered it with a beige fabric from the House of Donghia, which is perfectly appropriate in the living room environment thanks to its light color.
We are delighted to be entrusted with such beautiful projects by renowned architects such as Studio Razavi Architecture who have given us their confidence in the design of complex and ambitious furniture.
