"It is not sufficient to make something beautiful. It must also be comfortable, which makes the exercise extremely difficult. What I expect from an upholsterer is quality and dependability, at the service of forms which must adapt perfectly to the human body. For one of our clients, Jouffre displayed great technical prowess, fabricating a twenty feet long couch without buttoning, stitching or cushions. I especially appreciate the firm's dynamic mindset and interest in developing new designs. This interaction between professionals yields creations which, on the face of it, seem utterly impossible. It is at this point that a project comes most vibrantly alive."
> Visit websiteTo design this townhouse located in the heart of Brussels in Belgium, Pierre Yovanovitch trusted our artisans to implement two of their savoir-faire, window-treatment and upholstery, in every room of the house.
In the living room, our Lyon-based workshops conceived three pairs of curtains in a Perrine Rousseau fabric hooked on French rings, with an electric curtain rod. As for our upholsterery team, they fabricated an 8-meter long sofa on a solid wood structure assembled by French cabinetmaker Pierre-Eloi Bris. Sofa cushions were upholstered in a fabric woven by textile designer Tara Chapas. In order to brighten up the sofa, our artisans fabricated cushions and throw pillows (IDO Diffusion, Perrine Rousseau, Chapas Textiles). Finally, we have realized two ASSIS(ASY)METRIC armchairs in two Bruder & Co textiles.
In the ‘petit salon’ our workshops fabricated a rocking-chair seat cushion and a pair of pleated curtains hooked on a polished black epoxy curtain rod.
The dining table is surrounded by natural oak wood chairs. They were fabricated collectively by our upholsterers and Pierre-Eloi Bris. The dining room windows are dressed with roman shades and two pairs of curtains with inverted pleats (Holland & Sherry) that our seamstresses conceived by hand.
In the guest bedroom, our craftsmen have realized a bench that can turn into a bed. They also fabricated throw pillows and a pair of curtains that decorate the window.
Finally, at the middle of the master bathroom, a round bench was fabricated by our upholsterers, with a seat cushion in a Rogers & Goffigon fabric. Privacy is assured with four roman shades manufactured by our seamstresses and mounted by our installers in the window frame.
