In the heart of Karl Lagerfeld's former home, the Hôtel de Maisons in Paris, the second edition of Design Miami.Paris was recently held. This event, dedicated to lovers of design and contemporary creation, brings together international galleries to present rare pieces and innovative works. For the occasion, a number of galleries took over the hotel's numerous spaces to exhibit exceptional works of art and furniture.

Oui Design! Résonance, hosted by Jouffre in collaboration with Par Excellence and Villa Albertine, shone brightly among the events of this year’s New York Design Week. Through meticulous archival work, the company strives to bring back to life the iconic furniture pieces of Jean Royere, not only in terms of design, but craft as well, which always went hand in hand with the modus-operandi of the great...

The restoration of the Grand Foyer at The Palais Garnier, completed two decades ago, undoubtedly stands as the most unforgettable project within our workrooms, signifying a true rebirth. Guided by the original designs of architect Charles Garnier, our teams of decorative upholsterers and installers collaborated meticulously to recreate the opulent draperies and Italianate décor that now dazzle visitors of this Second Empire historical monument.

To celebrate the 18th edition of the European days of crafts, under the theme "Sur le bout des doigts", our workrooms opened their doors to the general public, schools and associations from April 4 to 7. A unique opportunity to highlight the richness of our upholstering trade and our ancestral savoir-faire.

Since January 17, 2024, the world of interior design and architecture has been in the spotlight at Le French Design Galerie, presenting the winning projects from the 3rd edition of the Le FD100 award. This exhibition proposes a unique insight into the talent and creativity of interior designers and architects, as well as the expertise of the craftsmen and manufacturers involved in the realization of these exceptional projects.

This year, we celebrate the ten years of an iconic masterpiece: the Asymmetry armchair, born from the creativity of the talented interior architect Pierre Yovanovitch and the craftsmanship of our upholstering workrooms.

At the "Savoir-Faire et Architecture" event during Paris Design Week last September, our upholstery ateliers, in collaboration with studio Biehler-Graveleine and Lesage Intérieurs, unveiled their first exclusive furniture collection.

"In my opinion, your Maison has been at the forefront for a decade. You have reinvented the chair and seating culture. You have given it a modern touch while maintaining an extremely assiduous savoir-faire. This project was difficult as it required knowing how to handle shapes and work with curves using extremely complex geometry and I think that you are the best on the market at doing this."

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is supporting our international development by partly financing the V.I.E program for our employee Sarà Djemaï, HR Development Manager. Sarà's mission is to help our New York team grow and improve the Quality of Working Life for our American employees.

The Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France, showcasing companies, craftsmen, producers and manufacturers fully committed to French manufacturing, returned to the Palace on July 1st and 2nd.

This past Friday, the Long Island City ateliers of Jouffre were transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity and community.

We are pleased to present this prospectus, which is dear to our hearts : a printed catalog dedicated entirely to our Moroccan ateliers, to their exceptional savoir-faire and to their magnificent creations. This guide, written in French and Arabic, will allow our teams to promote their craftsmanship to our clients, prospective designers, and interior architects in the Maghreb and the Middle East.

Founder of Métiers Rares and The Craft Project, in January Raphaëlle Le Baud unveiled her first exhibition ”Objets Sensuels” in the rooms of the Meurice hotel in Paris currently undergoing renovation.

For this 3rd edition, our Lyon-based workrooms joined forces with the French Craft Upholsterers’ label Artisans Tapissiers de France (ATF) to present its upholstery and loose furnishing creations in an ephemeral showroom at the heart of the capital.

Jouffre and Souchet, a company specialized in seat carpentry, have been collaborating for many years. Today, we have decided to go even further and create a partnership to unite forces and face up to the technical and aesthetic challenges brought to us every day by our clients.

Stewart Manger's first monograph is entitled "Romancing the Home". It will be available on October 18th.

An International Biennial celebration of Art and Creation, the Revelations exhibition is the must-attend event which celebrates the vitality and creative force of art craftsmen from around the world. The event was held from June 9 to 12, 2022 at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris and we are delighted to have participated once again.

The opening of our new Long Island City workshop has been highlighted by the international press. Just unveiled last November, our new location is featured in the pages of two leading interior design magazines : Architectural Digest and Elle Decor Magazine in several countries.

Created in 2002 by the National Institute of Crafts, the European Days of Crafts take place in Spring each year. This year, these days highlight the theme “Our hands in unison” and will take place from March 2022. This event, celebrated in France and Europe, aims to promote craftsmanship and offers the larger public an immersion in this sector which is too often left in the shadows.

Our American employees are making a fresh start, and are ready to write a new part of their story in the new premises in Long Island City.

Since 2016, Par Excellence has been the ambassador of French savoir-faire in Manhattan. Recently, the partners of this collective combined their expertise to enliven the storefront of the Lison de Caunes workroom, virtuosos of straw marquetry.

Following the success of its first edition in 2018, AD Magazine is renewing its AD Matières d'Art exhibition in September 2021. The exhibition aims at celebrating and highlighting the decoration professions, in order to promote to the general public these art professions that have too often remained in the shadows. Will be at the rendezvous of creators, artists and craftsmen who have the talent to sublimate the material through their creativity.

Renowned for his haute couture aesthetic and refined style, interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch realized residential and public projects for international clients. Acclaimed Parisian designer and awarded several times by the AD100 list, Pierre Yovanovitch has published his first monograph, alongside the publishing house Rizzoli.

The role of this Design Studio, made up of several designers in Lyon, New York and Rabat, is to precisely analyze each project to propose the best technical solutions which combine visual design and optimal comfort.

Strongly inspired by fashion, art history, decorative arts and their travels, Combray Design imagines a new collection each year and bring the creations to life in a workshop in Mumbai, India. Our teams are proud to have collaborated with Combray Design alongside talented designers and architects of repute, and to offer our customers these textile creations in our showroom.

The Living Heritage Company (EPV) label is a mark of recognition by the State, set up to distinguish the French companies with excellence in artisanal and industrial savoir-faire. Our workrooms are proud to be among the 1,400 companies that have been awarded this label since 2006.

The association FRENCH DESIGN by VIA has undertaken a new project: "Le FRENCH DESIGN WORLD MAP", a worldwide mapping of the French presence in object and space design. Thus, creators, architects, designers, furniture manufacturers, publishers or other partners of the association have the chance to see their projects and showrooms mapped all over the world.

For the last few days, Jouffre has been followed by more than 10k people on Instagram. An important step for the Lyon-based company, which wishes to thank its community for their continued support and loyalty. All the employees unite today to thank the people who follow along every week on the adventures of the artisans in Lyon, Paris, New York and Rabat.

Par Excellence, loyal partner of Jouffre, has produced a series highlighting the artisans represented at their New York showroom located in Manhattan.

For more than ten years, Jouffre has been working with the chief architects of historical monuments for the renovation of the Palais Garnier, a major monument of French architectural heritage. A look back at the work carried out by Jouffre since 2004.

In July 2019, Jouffre took the crazy gamble of completely renovating its workshops so that they could better reflect their daring projects and exceptional collaborations. The bet was taken! The stories of Jouffre and Scène d'intérieur have always been intimately linked. Today Jouffre, which already has workroom in Lyon and New York, will continue its development and wishes to make a workroom available in this wonderful country which has developed its arts and crafts much like France.

On the occasion of the tenth edition of the AD Intérieurs exhibition which brings together confirmed talents and young designers , designer Stéphane Parmentier has entrusted the ateliers Jouffre with the design of his space. This year, the Coulanges Hotel in Paris hosted this not-to-be-missed event.

Pierre Yovanovitch is once again collaborating with Jouffre to offer his private clientele a completely redesigned family home in central London. On July 2, 2019, an article was published in Architectural Digest Magazine about this ambitious project.

The 4th edition of the International Fine Art & Creation Biennale took place from 22 to 26 May 2019 at the Grand Palais in Paris. A look back at this stunning event during which Jouffre revealed to the public a research and development project initiated three years ago by the upholsterer from Lyon.

In March of 2019, the showroom was featured in an article for the « Signatures Singulières » magazine. Interviewed by Claire Bossu-Rousseau, Guillaume Bouchez, the associate director of Par Excellence, tells us of the success French savoir-faire has had abroad.

Anne-France Mayne, journalist at Domodeco, recently immersed herself in Jouffre workshops in order to discover the professions that fascinate and create excellence. The article ‘Jouffre ateliers créatifs, pique et coeur à carreau’ was published in Domodeco in March 2019. Anne-France Mayne reveals the passion that drives Charles Jouffre and Claudie Gautherot in their never ending search for the best fabrics and materials.

R & Company is showcasing “The Artisans”, a furniture collaboration between them, Chapas Textiles and Jouffre, which is on display from February 13 to March 22 at the gallery’s 82 Franklin Street location in New York. The collection includes unique pieces by Brazilian designers all made in the 1940’s and 50’s.

Lately, several articles about the Jouffre workshops have appeared in the international press. Jouffre is proud to share three of them here and thanks the New York Cottages & Gardens magazine, Business of Home and ELLE DECOR for highlighting the French upholstery savoir-faire.

Her show “The Craft Project” highlights the excellence and creativity of the artisans, and relates with stories that emerge from human and authentic encounters. In this conversation, Charles Jouffre confides a part of his own history.

Studio Razavi Architecture highlighted their creations at the exhibition "Maîtrise d’ouvrage particulière" at the Galerie d’Architecture de Paris from December 7th to January 12th. For this occasion, architect Alireza Razavi trusted the savoir-faire of Jouffre’s workshops to execute his vision.

ALT for Living introduced the “Shadow Collection” on November 29th, 2018. It is the first In-House Furniture Line imagined and created in collaboration with Jouffre. This collection presented an elegant set consisting of a timeless and sophisticated sofa and armchair, perpetuating the tradition of French craftsmanship.

As part of the second edition of Excellence of Expertise days, organized by the French Heritage Companies, Jouffre has opened their doors and met the public on Friday, September 12th 2018. This exceptional event was an unique opportunity for the public to learn about the upholstery profession in a unique new way.

Each year, French Architectural Digest magazine organizes “AD Intérieurs” exhibition in Paris. This displays of the salon are done by by famous interior designers and young talents in the parisian heritage monument. With the theme “Rough and Precious”, the exhibition’s 9th edition invites visitors to visit the Hotel de la Bûcherie from September 5th to 23rd and discover the interiors imagined by 15 interior designers.

Five artisans d’art, all Living Heritage Companies (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant), have been selected for the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show, taking place in September, from 26th to 29th. Marbrerie Fochesato, Jouffre, Ludwig & Dominique, Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne and Atelier Bernard Pictet presented their breathtaking creations in a 35 square-meter space designed by François Zuretti.

After India Mahdavi and Vincent Darré, Pierre Yovanovitch was the third jury president of the Design Parade. This international festival dedicated to interior design took place in Toulon, France, from June 29th to July 1st 2018. The French interior architect called on Jouffre artisans to manufacture various achievements.

Every June for the past 13 years, Design Miami/ moves from the U.S. East coast to Rhine banks in the Swiss city of Basel. French interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch, creator of the scenography for the R & Company booth, displayed a high-end custom furniture collection which he produced for the New York-based gallery.

The historic Palais Brongniart, formerly known as the Paris Bourse, was turned into an event venue by GL Events, a major event planning company. Three years ago, French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte called on Jouffre to fabricate the window treatment for the Salon Club and Salon d’Honneur.

French artisans Charles Jouffre and Lison de Caunes have always shared a strong desire to collaborate and unite their crafts. They finally got together last year and created a sofa named "Rencontre", meaning "encounter" in French, and there could not be a better name to define the unique result of their creation. You can see this collaboration at the showroom Par Excellence in New York.

The American design studio Drake/Anderson renewed their collaboration with the New York team at Jouffre to design a living room and a adjacent bar for the 2018 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, in New York. Jouffre would like to thank Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson for their trust and for giving us the opportunity to be part of such a great charity exhibition.

From September 7th, to October 26th 2017, the French interior architect Pierre Yovanovitch turned the space of R & Company, a New York gallery, into a setting of prodigious scenography. He unveiled 24 pieces of furniture created exclusively for the event. Jouffre were in charge of manufacturing severals pieces presented during the exhibition.

In 2017, the Jouffre workshops are moving to a twice bigger space in Long Island City, New York. The entire team is looking forward to receiving you in its new home! Seamstresses, upholsterers, account managers and workshop managers will now be working side by side, making the communication between the different hubs easier.

For several months, Jouffre collaborators worked for the 2017 edition of the Révélations trade show, a major event that showcases and promotes excellent French know-how. Jouffre was part of this approach by demonstrating what has now become its specificity: the development and production of singular works.

For 30 years, Jouffre has always accepted new challenges, believed in continuous improvement and that change can bring positive outcomes. Today, Jouffre is celebrating its 30th anniversary, looking forward to the future, strong of its past experiences. Techniques have evolved but core values have remained intact: quality first and excellence expertise to serve creativity.

It has been with great passion and enthusiasm that the ateliers Jouffre played its part in the creation of the French interior architect Pierre Yovanovitch's new Parisian office. It has been with pride that the team read his profile feature in the February 2017 issue of Architectural Digest.

Come and see our work during Art Basel Miami Beach 2016, from December 1st to 4th during the 12th edition of "Chambres à part" organized by Laurence Dreyfus. Highlighting the tight bond between art and contemporary furniture, Laurence Dreyfus chose to display a selection of exclusive and limited furniture pieces, including the armchairs developped and manufactured by Jouffre for Pierre Yovanovitch.

Michel and Daniel, founders of the architecture studio Bismut & Bismut have imagined a hybrid room, which mirrors our society and our behaviors inside the family unit. It centres on a large collection of videos from Chinese artists. To achieve their goal and complet this project, they wanted to collaborate with Jouffre to study, design and fabricate a complex and bold sofa.

From May 12th to June 9th 2016, Jouffre attended the 44th annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House. Designers Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson, at Drake/Anderson, submitted to us their ambitious project of creating a luxurious and sophisticated bedroom. Our ateliers created for them two unique "chaise longues" upholstered in a silk velvet. A complex work that required hundreds of hours of work to reach the designers’ expectations and vision.

A unique association reunited French designers Gilles & Boissier and Jouffre on the prestigious first Baccarat hotel in New York. Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier are two French interior designers whose style and elegance have seduced worldwide. The couple is now working on the amazing first hotel Baccarat in New York for which they decided to collaborate with Jouffre to achieve the wall upholstery in the Lobby Lounge of the hotel.

Par Excellence is a 2,150 sq ft showroom on two levels with a street-level window display. It presents and represents the various French houses of luxury craftsmanship in the field of interior design. Situated in central Chelsea, it enjoys an exceptional location in an area where art galleries rub shoulders with work by today’s finest architects.

Jouffre was honored to take part in the second edition of Révélations, the international fine craft and creation biennial, at the Grand Palais in Paris from September 10th to September 13th, 2015.
